Nottinghamshire Construction Framework

On the 26 April 2007, Nottinghamshire County Council held an “Integrated Supply Chain Introductory Workshop” to formally introduce the Approved Supply Chain members to its Framework Contractors and members of Nottinghamshire County Council.

You may be aware that Nottinghamshire County Council joined forces with three East Midlands construction companies, Interserve, GF Tomlinson Building Limited and Marriott Construction in a Framework designed to deliver best value and service improvement in the key areas of time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

This four year Framework Agreement will see Nottinghamshire County Council and the chosen companies working together on a range of capital construction projects including schools, libraries, day centres and offices with individual contract values over £350,000.

This worshop was a direct result of many months of hard work by the Supply Chain Working Group who were tasked to implement and manage an “Integrated Supply Chain” for the Nottinghamshire Construction Framework.

The workshop was held at the Council Chamber, County Hall in Nottingham and was attended by over 120 people. The event included an introduction and background to the Framework, a presentation from the three Framework Contractors, an explanation of the operation of the supply chain, including selection and performance measures and a chance to get to meet the key players.

The event was very well received and the question and answer session at the end really showed that all stakeholders were positive about this partnership and their role within it.

The integrated supply chain includes trades such as:

  • Fire Sprinkler Installers
  • Catering Equipment
  • Electrical Contractors
  • Curtain Walling, Aluminium Windows and Doors
  • Steel Frame
  • Timber Frame Manufacturers
  • Mechanical Contractors
  • Mechanical & Electrical Contractors
  • Lifts Manufacturers and Installer

The intention is to procure supply chain members who are willing to work in a partnering environment with an open book philosophy and early project

Involvement.

Densel Davy the chair of the Supply Chain Working Group said “The feedback that I received from delegates attending is an encouragement to us that the Nottinghamshire Construction Framework is taking a positive lead in collaborative working in the East Midlands”.
