We welcome applications that help people to learn about, look after and celebrate heritage in a fun and enjoyable way.
We have three aims which relate to learning, conservation and participation.
To receive a grant your project must:
- Help people to learn about their own and other people’s heritage.
- Your project must also do either or both of the following:
- Conserve the UK’s diverse heritage for present and future generations to experience and enjoy.
- Help more people, and a wider range of people, to take an active part in and make decisions about heritage.

Who can apply
Only organisations with charitable status are eligible for financial assistance from the AHF. Financial assistance is available only for buildings that are listed, scheduled or in a conservation area and of acknowledged historic merit. Projects must involve a change either in the ownership of a property or in its use.
