Tender procedure often requires the commissioner of the work – whether restoration or new work in an ancient setting – to have knowledge of the medium in order to procure the best value. NHIG is able to offer to fill to this knowledge gap with a series of lectures designed to equip commissioners of ironwork, whether architects, surveyors or conservation professionals with information they will find essential in the writing of specifications. Please see the attached programme which will be delivered by acknowledged experts in the field, who will also accompany the delegates on two site visits, to a blacksmith/conservation workshop and on a site vist to veiw xcellent case studies of heritage ironwork.
