The Construction Clients' Group
What is the Construction Clients' Group?
The CCG is the only organisation dedicated to supporting both private and public sector customers of construction. CCG supports all clients, regardless of their core business activity, by promoting best practice as a construction client that results in business performance improvement through a better construction outcome. Of equal importance, alongside our best practice role, CCG acts as a credible voice for a wide range of clients.
Why have a Construction Clients' Group?
The significance of a central and co-ordinated client body in enabling the construction industry to underpin the wider economy has been recognised since the seminal industry report Constructing the Team. Subsequent industry reports have reaffirmed the value of CCG. One of our principal functions is to help clients to consider their business needs before commissioning construction and, having initiated a project, to have high and appropriate expectations of the whole project team, including themselves.
Clients are an important part of the construction industry itself. They can help the industry to perform better or, as happens all too often, be left dealing with the business consequences of the project not going as well as it could have. CCG has an important role in promoting those initiatives of genuine value to clients and, (accepting that clients are integral to the industry), in providing a client voice alongside contractor and sub contractor bodies actively shaping the construction regulation and policy landscapes.
How does the Construction Clients' Group Operate?
CCG creates a forum for public and private sector clients to share experiences and to collaborate. It represents clients on the Strategic Forum for Construction and participates in the Forums' various workstreams. We represent clients on a number of industry and Government task groups and we collaborate with a host of organisations also seeking industry improvement.
Alongside different bands of client membership, the CCG also provides an associate membership category.
