BEYOND BROKERAGE
Despite the economic downturn more and more companies involved in construction are looking to up-skill their workforce to a higher level.
Growing demand for sustainable construction techniques, the CSCS card system and greater accreditation across the industry, are fuelling demand for higher level skills.
Beyond Brokerage is a new advice service for companies within the construction sector who want to find out more about training and qualifications beyond level 3.
Funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda), this is a free service available to all employers in the construction sector who are based in the East Midlands and have 250 staff or less.
The service provides a specialist Higher Level Skills Advisor who works with companies to identify their higher level training needs. He will then research courses from Universities and Colleges from across the East Midlands that will best meet the needs of each individual employer.
Higher level courses are now more responsive to the needs of employers -of all sizes- than ever before. Whether it’s a short course in Management and Leadership, a trade specific course in renewable energies or progression to a HNC or Foundation Degree, the HLS Advisor will be able to research the best options for you and your business.
If you are interested in finding out more about this free service and what type of training might be available to you, then contact Steven Corbett, Higher Level Skills Advisor for Construction on Tel: 07917 535 427 email: scorbett@dmu.ac.uk or visit the Beyond Brokerage website at www.beyondbrokerage.co.uk
