·         Do your employers have staff for whom existing qualifications don’t fit? 

• Would you like to offer employers ready made Higher Education courses and a qualification which fits their unique needs, are work based, flexible, accessible and have no academic entry requirements?
• Would your employers like to benefit from a non means tested fee subsidy for courses and a qualification that do not require time off work?

If so, the Foundation Degree in Combined Professional Studies (FdCPS) and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses from The Open University are for you. 

The FdCPS is being offered initially in the East Midlands but will be expanded nationally in 2011 once it proves successful. It provides a ready made, off the shelf resource, intended to complement the sector specific Foundation Degrees.  The FdCPS offers what other qualifications can’t; an individually tailored programme of study, to meet employer and employee needs. 

The CPD courses are bite sized (30 hour) certificated courses for practicing professionals.  They have been developed in association with professional bodies, employers and Sector Skills Councils.

You are invited to a practical workshop with tasters and an opportunity to explore how the FdCPS and the CPD courses can be used to meet employer and employee needs within your sector. You will take away materials and literature that will enable you to illustrate and present the FdCPS and the CPD courses to your clients.

For this initiative The Open University in the East Midlands is working in partnership with learndirect: Learning though Work in a project funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) so you might also receive an invitation through learndirect or emda networks.
