!! Next NCF Breakfast Briefing Thursday 11th March 2010 In Association With The Nottingham Construction Strategy Group and the Derbys/Notts Chamber of Commerce !!

!! Part 2 of Is Your Business on the Right Track? ---Procurement for The Nottingham Tram Project:         How to Grab Your Share And Other Delights to Help Keep You on the Rails !!

Well, some 75 of you pre- booked for the Part 1 of this Briefing Series and unfortunately some had to be turned away. Also an M1 accident on the day prevented quite a few from attending. So, by popular request, we are featuring Part 2 of this series, but with the second Bidder in attendance this time!

Following Government approval earlier this year, the NET Phase 2 is going ahead full steam (so to speak!). This is a £400+ million project to extend the tram service to the west and south of the City. Who will the main contractors be?  What will the opportunities be for local construction and engineering people in the fullness of time, and how can YOU directly benefit from all this?

We are very fortunate indeed to have Matthew Crosse, Bid Director of Arrow Connect (one of the two preferred Bidders for the Contract) to make a complementary presentation, and he will be in attendance with members of the Arrow Connect Team. Steve Tough, Project Director from Nottingham City Council will also present to us on this subject. He will outline where the Project is at; who the main contractors are; how procurement of all the future packages will work; and how you can keep well informed, and stay alert to future procurement opportunities.

Supporting the day’s programme will be Barrie Billinghay from the Sustainable Construction Innovation Network (the Inet). He will update you on how to access the iNet grants for Innovation, to get your share.  This is an important update on the iNet’s progress. Grab some free money!

Lastly, but by no means least, Richard Stanley, a Partner and Head of the Tax Division at Smith Cooper Accountancy Firm, will advise on Financial Strategic Planning in view of the forthcoming Budget and, in particular, on how to keep the Taxman’s hands off your wealth whilst maximizing your capital while you can!!

Please book your place by replying to this e-mail to ronglen@msn.com   Please advise if vegetarian when booking. The Event joining details are as below.

To maintain and develop the vital work of NCF we shall be asking for a contribution of £10 per head (tax deductable) towards hospitality and related costs at this meeting. This should be paid on the day by cash or cheque made out to The Nottinghamshire Construction Forum.

The next Breakfast Briefing Meeting of the Nottinghamshire Construction Forum (NCF) is on Thursday 11th March 2010 at 8.00 for 8.30am. This will be at the Basford Site of New College Nottingham.

A light breakfast will be served and we will end promptly at 10.30am. Also, you will now have full e-mail and Internet capability at the meeting room suite, so feel free to work there before or after the session.
The College is about 4 minutes from Jn 26 on the M1, toward Nottingham, past the Gateway Hotel, just off the A610 at Stockhill Lane and plenty of parking is available right round to the REAR of the College and the Meeting Room is B204 at the CPD Centre, which will be fully signed from the REAR entrance.
