Description
POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE  Constructing Excellence Infrastructure Working Group Supply Chain Integration 29 January 2009 at Loughborough University Kick-starting Collaboration – An Action Plan

An interactive workshop for Client organisations, service providers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and manufacturers involved in infrastructure works.
This is the third and final workshop aimed at real action towards integrating supply chains for improved industry performance.
In the current economic climate it is more important than ever that the construction industry becomes more competitive and delivers better value to society. One way of achieving this is through supply chain integration.
The first two workshops identified the barriers and looked at what Clients want. Three issues are put forward from this earlier work to be resolved on 29th January:
  1. The maturity model – the stages leading to high performance
    1. Innovate
    2. Build Relationships
    3. Integrate
    4. Be Agile
  2. How do you start on this journey? -
    1. Standard approach
    2. Standard set of tools the industry can use
    3. Intelligent client
    4. Clear ‘line of sight’
  3. By working in this manner will it resolve the problems of better integration in the infrastructure sector?

The third workshop session will focus on actions and develop areas where industry can focus.
