Recommendations and Future Actions

Introduction

The following recommendations have been developed in response to the issues emerging from the ten focus groups and workshops conducted as part of the Bridging the Gap project. The majority of the recommendations were developed in direct response to suggestions by the 150 industry stakeholders participating in the focus groups. These have been supplemented with examples of good practice from other counties and industries, as well as suggestions from the project steering group as to how the core issues can be addressed. Together, these recommendations could form an overarching strategy for policy makers, educational establishments, trades federations and individual employers with a stake in the East Midlands construction industry.
